KCAA Announces 2009

Monica Apollo joined KCAA in 2007. She is a native of southeast Kansas. Monica is a graduate of Pittsburgh State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Prior to furthering her education as a physician assistant, Monica worked as a registered nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital. She also worked as a surgical nurse. She graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant from Wichita State University and is certified as a Physician Assistant through NCCPA and licensed in the state of Kansas. Monica maintains her education through continuous medical education.
Loretta Heinen joined KCAA in 2008. After graduating from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, she attended the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado, and graduated in 2007. Loretta is certified through the NCCPA and is committed to being a life-long learner by maintaining her medical knowledge through continuous medical education.
Prior to joining KCAA, Loretta worked in the emergency room at several Denver hospitals. She often cared for the acute asthmatic patients, which sparked her interest in allergy, asthma and immunology. She enjoys being intellectually challenged and finds fulfillment in knowing she is helping others.
Kristy Mohn, M.S, ARNP joined KCAA as a graduate nurse practitioner in August 2009. Being a mother of a child with asthma, Kristy has a vested interest in allergy and asthma care. She graduated from the University of Kansas School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She also earned her board certification as a nurse practioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers and is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. Kristy worked for eleven years as a nurse in the Women’s Center at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
After returning to the University of Kansas, Kristy graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2009. Away from the office, Kristy enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
